Facebook , where am I ?

by Ziuby

Even if you're logged out of the Facebook app, Facebook can track your every move, this is because Facebook have updated its privacy policy.

This new privacy policy allows Facebook to have your data from the internet , including online searches, and information shared with online retailers .A  spokesman from Facebook said "It takes into account pages and places visited on Facebook, alongside browsing on the internet at large."For some privacy loving Facebook user this might not be the good news, but Facebook clamming it as good thing as it help to improvise the user experience. But as part of relief you can customize privacy setting to overcome  some part of new policy .

Facebook: Empathize or Dislike

by Ziuby

On Facebook, many people post, upload many things for various purposes. Mostly it is used for personal use like photo sharing, view sharing, occasion’s information etc. Face book can also be used business use such as advertisements.

If person genuinely like their posts and uploads, Like button is the way to express it. But if they don't rather than having dislike button, they can avoid giving any kind of response to it .because dislike button psychologically gives Negative impact on person you are giving dislike response. Another suggestion that was floating around in the digital world was ’empathize’ button. This will reduce the negative effect or vibe of the word dislike. Maybe the best idea would be all together avoiding the concept and going with the approach that doesn’t hamper or affect any community, countries or persons sentiment.

Facebook Messenger in 2015

by Ziuby

Leading and the most popular social networking site Facebook has launched a new feature for its messenger app that automatically transcribes any file sent as a voice recording and let the people send voice clips to each other. Facebook’s vice president of messaging products, David Marcus, mentioned that in 2015, the company will be bringing voice-to-text to the app.

With this feature, Facebook will allow people to send written messages without typing. The next big change will be some form of ads or monetization. While Marcus said that these ads wouldn’t be intrusive and that Facebook would make sure to choose a method of monetization that doesn’t get in your face, I know people won’t like it.

For a frequent user of Facebook Messenger it would be something very interesting and time-saving I can say. With the Stickers functionality of Facebook Messenger, Voice-to-text will be a great add-on.

Internet for All : Facebook & Internet.org

by Ziuby

Facebook has recently decided to up their efforts and contribute positively towards the society through the medium of technology. The internet penetration in the world is mostly concentrated in the developed countries and those who are in developing phase such as India. It seems that the world is connected through the internet but the truth is that not all are able to experience the benefits of Internet .

Facebook are working in hand with Internet.org to fix this. Offering users of the Tig telephone network free access to basic online services including weather, Wikipedia, Facebook, and government services. The service is already available in Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia. Facebook is to make the world more open and connected.

According to a report people at Facebook think that there are two primary barriers to people using the Internet. Internet.org is trying to solve is both affordability and awareness. Trying to give a small set of basic services that are going to improve people’s lives. We believe by people having their first experience on the Internet, they will start to understand the value of the Internet; they’ll pay for access to the Internet and hopefully improve their lives.

This seems like the best efforts a company can take towards providing good inputs for creating a better place in the world for people. Education sector , Medical sector all can benefit form such efforts. Focused  and well thought out strategy followed by good execution can surely help make a difference.

Impact of Social Media on a modern Business

by Ziuby

Businesses today are facing a generation of far more demanding customers than they've seen before. This generation are always connected, especially through mobile devices. They expect fast answers - and they want these across every channel, including social.Businesses need to be turning to agile and flexible technology solutions that enable them to more easily engage with customers in social channels.

In the coming 5 years,we are going to see an increasing cross over between marketing and customer service. This will put a stronger emphasis on using customer data to personalise communication and identify the best communication channel.

We've seen lots of companies use social media, but there are plenty of examples of companies that have ignored social media and then paid the price for it.Social media provides a great opportunity for customers to get a more personalized service. Businesses need to use a solution that provides insight and guidance into the customer across all channels in order to provide a customer centric experience.

It's time for companies to merge social customer service into the mainstream - we're way past the point where social should be treated like a 'one-off' customer service channel.

WhatsApp hits 700 million active users

by Ziuby

The social messaging app has added another 100 million active monthly users since August. And, according to the company's CEO Jan Koum, that equates to 30 billion messages sent every single day. When Facebook bought WhatsApp in February for an astonishing $19 billion, many believed that the deal would kill the social messaging app's appeal, especially among younger users. However, it appears that nothing could be further from the truth. Back in February 2014 when the deal was announced, WhatsApp had 450 million monthly active users, meaning that over the past 11 months 250 million new users have signed up.

Much of the appeal of WhatsApp is that it is a very simple way of messaging anyone with an Android or Apple smartphone without incurring text-messaging charges and, apart from an annual subscription of $1 after the first year's use, the service is free. And the fact that Facebook hasn't interfered with that offering in any way or tried to re-brand WhatsApp or make it part of Facebook's own messaging service could well be why it continues to attract new users.

WhatsApp is expected to add free voice calling to the app in 2015 and to launch a desktop version so that people will be able to message and chat with friends while they're using their computers. As for Facebook's future plans for WhatsApp it has promised to leave the company to its own devices, at least until it hits the 1
billion-user milestone.

Facebook Warning Labels

by Ziuby

The leading social networking site "Facebook" is now putting the warning labels on graphic videos that member can upload and share with friends.

Facebook allows children as young as 13 years old to join. Facebook began adding warnings and age filters in November after the introduction of a feature that causes videos in  News Feeds to automatically start playing. Users must now click on warning labels for those videos to play. In instances when people report graphic content to us that should include warnings, or is not appropriate for people under the age of 18, we may add a warning for adults and prevent young people from viewing the content.

The California-based Internet giant will also prevent potentially shocking or upsetting video clips from popping into News Feeds of members whose profiles say they
are younger than 18 years old.

This is the right step towards being responsible in the Digital World. "Be responsible for your own actions", this quote perfectly describes the attitude one must have when it comes to using technology. Strict measures and protocols for regulating online content and ensuring the implementaion of it is extremetly important. Thumbs up for Facebook towards taking this intiative and lets hope that others will follow.
