Phone Gap is a free and open source framework that allows you to create mobile apps using standardized web APIs for the platforms. Phone Gap allows you to create mobile apps using the web tools- HTML, CSS, and JavaScript - and then easily compile them for multiple platforms in the cloud. 

We can create one app and can convert it for all types of Operating System like - ios, windows-8, android, etc. Here even we can customize a website very easily and can provide an app of our website which will work in the same way as a website but is available offline, and can send updated software whenever there are some changes. 

The website can be customized very easily and one can download it easily using a bar code as the file will reside on cloud or our server. Adobe is providing 2GB of free storage on cloud for this with every login. With only basic web development languages we can build app for all platforms.

Phone Gap provides a base for web-developers to move to app development with their existing skills. The Phone Gap cannot work alone it is combined with Node.js for its functioning. Though there are various limitations to phone Gap, it’s a good place for beginners to start their carrier in Application Development.
