India part of the digital world .. how can I contribute ?

by Ziuby

Social media has given opportunities to connect with people across the globe, it has also given job opportunities, improved business Skills. Market reach of a business is far more effective than it was before. A small garment Merchant in Srinagar India with the right tools can now showcase his talent to a Customer in LA America. A business has an opportunity to truly become a global business. A Customer is no longer restricted to the local market and has now evolved into a global Customer in every sense. This is possible all thanks to E-commerce and technology. It seems that technology, social media platforms have surely helped to achieve a phenomenal Progress rate, but is it so?

In the light of discovery when one always thinks what can be achieved, no one thinks about Whether or not should it be done? We live in an age where the chances of finding new things, new technology uses is relatively high. But knowledge in the wrong hands can be dangerous. Sick minded people can use the same knowledge of technology to commit acts destructive in nature.

So the question then arises on what should be done? Before implementing any New concept in technology it is important to truly understand its strength, positives and Negatives. Human factor poses the maximum threat level when it comes to security breach. Hackers are intelligent people who will use information as a weapon to commit acts that are destructive in nature. In a work environment it is the duty and responsibility of every person to ensure proper security measures are followed while handling business sensitive data.No individual, business, or government is solely responsible for securing the Internet.

Technology and Us , Is there too much dependency ?

by Ziuby

Today's society is different to the one that existed not so many years ago. Our society is constantly changing. The most important characteristics of our era may be the transformation, transmission and dominion of information. We live in an information society where the leading role has been given to new technologies, especially those devoted to information. Our society could not be imagined without new technologies and their role both in this society and in human life in general.

Modern technology has revolutionized people’s communication. Radio, telephone, satellite communication, cellular technology, wireless Internet … in the modern day two people can chat with a help of computer when they're in different places. Technology is building bridges between people on opposite sides of the globe, bringing people from all cultures and backgrounds into contact with each other.
The Internet hosts an enormous information base. Technology has made it possible for this information to reach far and wide. Online education has set in, making it possible to render knowledge to students inhabiting remote locations on Earth. It is due to the World Wide Web that the information could reach one and all over the computer networks.
Also modern technology has also provided ways to grow more food, transport more people and make more products for a growing society.

Another biggest benefits of modern technology is that human health have improved because of its application. As knowledge of the body and its functions improves, and as new tools to help heal it are created, life lasts longer. Not only does life extend, but people can live more comfortably, and recover from wounds and diseases that even a half a century ago would have been fatal.Nowadays machines have begun executing laborious, repetitive tasks. People do not have to slog to the extent they did before the advent of technology. Automation of processes has brought about efficiency and speed. Speedy performance of tasks has saved human effort and time.

New technologies sometimes are making people dull. For example, if you have to add 85+63+11+759 (or something difficult like that) then you'll surely depend on calculators of such devices. But where's our mind mechanism?
So we need technologies, because they are making our life more comfortable and safety, but lets' not make technologies our habit.

Mobile Responsive Websites .. 3 points to remember

by Ziuby

A customer is no longer the only one who walks into the shop. A business owner now engages a customer through e-mail, mobile-app, through a website and many other such electronic platforms. These are the result of new Digital World and referred to as E-Commerce. So what is E-Commerce and Mobile Commerce? Has it really impacted our way of shopping so much?
? Well yes!

Many choose to think of Mobile Commerce as meaning "a retail outlet in your customer’s pocket." The telecom Industries are now providing services at a low price. Because of this and the low costings of Smartphone there are lot of people using Internet through mobile or handheld devices. Mobile Commerce is also known as m-commerce.

Lets look at a few crucial points to one must focus on when going for Responsiveness

1. Media Queries : Media queries are supported in Internet Explorer(IE) 9+,  firefox 3.5+,  Safari 3+, Opera 7+ as well as on most modern smartphones and other screen based device. Although old version of Internet Explorer (IE) don’t support the media queries. By using media query we can make a responsive website. We can create an external CSS file and add to your website. By using this external file we make a responsive website.
2. Go for Layout and not Device : It is difficult to cover all the devices that are available in the market. The  specification of hardware and display dimensions will differ a lot. The best approach it to write code that keeps the layout responsive. This will ensure that the website will responsive across  different browsers and across different devices.

3. Use Custom Breakpoints :  No two websites will be developed  with the same code so it only makes sense that the media queries written will also differ. In such cases one must go for custom breakpoints. These are pretty straightforward and are written within media queries. For e.g. if a website is looking a bit off at 455px so developer can write something like @media only screen and (max-device-width : 455 px) {  /*Styles */  }

Developers and Solutions providers are now expected to make Mobile Responsiveness as a standard feature. A conscious effort made to put out such solutions will help to maintain quality of end product.

Modern technology, are we getting codependent ?

by Ziuby

Technology is applied to the roles each individual fulfills during life. We use technology on a daily basis to accomplish specific tasks or interests.

Every one defines technology in their own way. To some people it means complicated electronic devices. To others, it means the source of the radical changes that are happening in all phases of life.
Some people fear to use technology while others see it as the source of longer and more complete lives. So even if using technology has an advantage, it has disadvantages also.

Advantages

Easy Access to information: It has become very easy to get access to relevant information at any time anywhere. This has been possible because of modern technologies like broadband internet. Information is power, and those who find information and use it well always succeed.

Encourages innovation and creativity: In the past, it used to be very difficult to start a business, one had to have lots of capital and they even had limited access to business information. Today, it is very easy to start a business while at home.

Improved communication:  Communication is like water to life.Modern technology has blessed us with advanced communication technology tools. These can include e-fax machines, electronic mail, mobile phones, video conferencing, instant text messaging applications, etc.

Social Networking:   Modern technology has made it simple to discover our old friends and also discover new people to network with. This is a benefit to both individuals and businesses. Many businesses have embraced the social networking technology to interact with their customers.

Disadvantages

Increased loneliness: Technology has replaced our old way of interacting. If a user can easily interact with 100 friends online, they will feel no need to going out to make real friends which at a later stage leads to loneliness.

Job Loss: Modern technology has replaced many humans; robots are doing of the jobs which used to be done by humans. Many packing firms have employed robots on production lines to increase on production and efficiency

Competency - Increased dependency on modern tools like calculators has reduced on our creativity. You can find a student when they can solve a very simple mathematical equation without using a calculator. This affects the way this student uses their brains and reduces on the level of creativity.

During the passion of finding new ways to implement technology and explore new avenues somewhere we must also keep in mind whether the intended action has its desired cause. In light of discovery one can easily get focused on what he has to do rather that thinking also that should it be done. Technology should always be responsibly used . We cannot forget that technological inventions are meant to ease our day to day activities and not control them.

Web Development and Design in India

by Ziuby

The IT sector has developed at a rapid rate in past few years. European countries have always been ahead of the curve. With IT giants like Microsoft, Google,  Apple starting right in their backyards, one can say that America have pioneered the Technological movement and have been at least 10 years ahead from rest of the countries. People only looked towards European markets for innovation and new ideas but this has changed. India has been catching up fast. There is lot of talent and curiosity amongst the Indians. This has resulted into the current attitude of cities like Bangalore,Pune, and Hyderabad.

Technology and its need have reached very deep in the market.  With the right attitude and set of skills a company of 3-5 employees can bring in the next big thing. The web designing and development companies in Pune have really stepped up their game. They are breaking the shackles of old and traditional ways of putting out solutions. Innovations and out of the box thinking is given the highest priority now. Web solutions need a fair bit of analysis done before and the young talent of India are up for the challenge.

Businesses are now looking at logo design and responsive web design as a basic requirement for developing a web-solution. Conventional marketing techniques and marketing strategy have seen some significant revamping. Social platforms like Facebook and twitter have completely changed the market reach. Businesses have recognized this and want their presence to target a wider audience. This has resulted in people with job descriptions as social media marketing expert.

One can surely agree that India in 2015 is on the right path in terms of Digital growth. Progress of different sectors is linked to the growth of IT in India and so far the IT experts are caring that responsibility well.

by Ziuby

Flipkart was launched in India in 2007, the company enjoyed the maturing market riding on the mobile revolution establishing Flipkart.com as the leading online retailer in the country.
Amazon then entered in market as strong competitor for Flipkart, it has already brand reputation in world market excluding India. Still they got a unique advantage which is uncommon new start-ups.

On parameters of fair pricing, better delivery, and quick resolution a lot of users place trust in Amazon and Flipkart to undertake the order. But on Amazon a nifty feature is good and new where while browsing through there is filter “Fulfilled by Amazon which listed out only Amazon Shipped products .unfortunately Flipkart doesn't have such features we have to browse through all products for listing. On world basis, Amazon is a great source of reading reviews .but In India; the same can be said about Flipkart.

With foreign market giants looking at Indian market as one of the most lucrative markets, the battle for supremacy is just heating up.

A look into Green Computing for #2015 : From Current to Future Trends

 by Ziuby

The term ‘Green Computing’ is the study and practices that covers the computing lifecycle from cradle to grave. It start from design to manufacturing to use of equipment and then safely disposing-off computers, related devices, networking and communications equipment’s efficiently and effectively with negligible or no impact on the environment.

Current trends of #GreenComputing are towards efficient utilization of resources. Energy is considered as the main resource and the carbon footprints are considered the major threads to environment.

There are several areas where researchers are putting lots of efforts to achieve desired

1. Energy Consumption
2. E-waste Recycling.
3. Data Center Consolidation & Optimization
4. Virtualization
5. IT Products and Eco labeling

The reason to focus and analyze Future Trends is because of growth in computing needs, energy cost and global warming and this shift is great challenge for IT industry. The future of Green Computing in #2015 is going to be based on efficiency, rather than reduction in consumption. The primarily focus of Green IT is in the organization’s self interest in energy cost reduction, at #DataCenter and at desktops, and the result of which is the corresponding reduction in carbon generation. The secondary focus of Green IT needs to focus beyond energy use in the Data Center and #CloudComputing the focus should be on innovation and improving alignment with overall corporate social responsibility efforts.

There are few efforts, which all enterprises are supposed to take care of

1. Certifications
2. Cloud Computing
3. Product Longevity
4. Power Management Tools
5. Leveraging Unused Computer Resource
